Ivy Academy: An Associate Degree by Graduation Day. Your Future Fast-Tracked.

A Partnership between Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios South Bend-Elkhart and South Bend Community School Corporation that allows motivated high school students to earn the Indiana College Core and even an associate degree - before high school graduation.

What is ivy academy?

Ivy Academy is a two-year, cohort-based dual enrollment program for SBCSC high school juniors and seniors. Students take real Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios college courses on the South Bend campus while remaining enrolled in their home high school.

Through structured academic support and weekly cohort programming, students complete significant college coursework in a supportive, community-centered environment.

By graduation, students may earn:

  • The Indiana College Core (30 transferable general education credits)

  • An Associate of General Studies degree

  • Additional career-aligned coursework or certificates

Transportation is provided by South Bend Community School Corporation, and students remain connected to their high school community while gaining authentic college experience.

what do students take?

Junior Year: Indiana College Core

During junior year, students complete the Indiana College Core (ICC) — a 30-credit block of general education courses designed to transfer seamlessly to Indiana public colleges and universities.

Courses include:

  • ENGL 111 → English 11

  • ARTH 110 → Art History

  • HIST 101 & 102 → U.S. History

  • COMM 101 → Public Speaking

  • BIOL 101 → Biology II

  • MATH 135 → Finite Math

  • SPAN 101 & 102 → Spanish II

  • ECON 202 → Microeconomics

This provides a strong academic foundation while fulfilling high school graduation requirements.

Senior Year: Associate Degree Pathway

In senior year, students continue completing their required high school coursework — including English 12, Pre-Calculus, Government, and other graduation requirements — while building upon the Indiana College Core.

At the same time, students work toward:

  • Associate of General Studies (AGS)

  • Additional transferable general education credits

  • Career-focused exploration aligned with future goals

Courses are carefully aligned so that students meet high school graduation requirements while earning college credit simultaneously.

By the end of senior year, students graduate from high school with a significant academic head start — and in many cases, a completed associate degree.
