Level Up Your Excel Skills

This intermediate Excel course expands on foundational skills by introducing powerful tools for data analysis, formatting, and decision-making. Participants will learn to apply themes and cell styles, format numbers and dates, and use functions to manage text, perform calculations, and analyze data. Key features include conditional formatting, financial functions, What-If Analysis tools, Goal Seek, and scenario creation. The course also explores nested functions, error handling, and cell referencing for more efficient and accurate spreadsheet use. Available as an open-enrollment class for the public or customized contract training for employers.

  • Apply and customize themes, cell styles, and number formats for professional presentation.

    • Use date and time functions to perform calculations and formatting.

    • Create and manage conditional formatting rules using the Rules Manager.

    • Build formulas using logical functions such as IF, IFS, and nested functions.

    • Use text functions to manipulate and format data (e.g., CONCATENATE, LEFT, RIGHT, MID).

    • Perform financial calculations using built-in functions like PMT and FV.

    • Create and analyze one-variable and two-variable data tables.

    • Use What-If Analysis tools, including Scenario Manager and Goal Seek, to explore data outcomes.

    • Troubleshoot formula errors and understand different types of cell references.

    • Organize large datasets using features like outlines and subtotals.

These objectives prepare learners to manage and analyze data more effectively, enhancing productivity and decision-making.
