In July 2025, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios Evansville was designated as a Collegiate Purple Star of Indiana (CPSI) campus by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education. This award recognizes that the campus provides a supportive environment for U.S. military-affiliated students throughout their journey from application to graduation.
In October 2025, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios Evansville adopted Rex, the Monarch Lion as its mascot. Voted upon by the student body and faculty and staff in spring 2024, Rex is a nod to Rex Mundi High School, the former occupant of the current main campus of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios, from 1958-1972. Rex Mundi's mascot was The Monarch, a regal lion.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios student Gracie Defur, is the inspiration behind the new mascot. She is a visual communications major and she hopes to become a graphic designer following graduation. Gracie’s sketches assisted the team in developing the digital image, which informed the costumed mascot.
