STEM Mobile Lab

VISION STATEMENT & PURPOSE

Our vision for the Mobile STEM Lab is to inspire & empower the next generation of innovators in Madison & Hancock Counties by providing access to high-quality STEM education experiences. Our mobile lab aims to make hands-on, inquiry-based learning accessible to all students, regardless of their background or location. We envision a community where every student can explore & discover the wonders of science, technology, engineering, & math, & they are equipped with the knowledge & skills needed to succeed in the 21st century. Our ultimate goal is to foster a lifelong passion for STEM learning & encourage students to pursue careers in these critical fields, helping to build a stronger, more prosperous future for our community & beyond.

WHAT HAVE WE BEEN UP TO?

Since it's launch in the summer of 2021, the Anderson STEM program has already partnered with 30 schools and engaged over 20,000 students through multiple avenues such as school visits, summer camps, and community-wide events.  STEM Mobile Lab was awarded $10,000 through an Impact Madison Grant for 2024 from the Madison County Community Foundation, in which the funds were used to purchase brand new iPads and a secondary STEM trailer. The Mobile STEM Lab was also awarded $7,500 through the Bright Future Grant with the South Madison Community Foundation. These funds also went toward new iPads and also to pay the high costs associated with moving and maintaining the STEM trailer.
