Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet students/ clients with warm reception at office and food pantry
- Demonstrate strong customer service and student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving, and a desire to identify and support student success
- Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported
- Address student concerns/needs while displaying a high level of sensitivity to maintain the confidentiality of student information per FERPA
- Maintain confidentiality at all times
- Perform office duties including answering phones, responding to emails, scheduling appointments, filing, copying, scanning, and administrative duties as assigned
- Answer questions, problem solve, and refer individuals to ĢƵios staff as appropriate
- Maintain friendly, helpful “customer service” demeanor
- Identify personal biases and work with the Director to overcome such barriers while working with clients
- Develop working knowledge resources St. Joe Co., Marshall Co., and Elkhart Co. to ensure the basic needs of students are met
- Develop understanding of community services/resources through outreach and research
- Represent the College in a professional manner in interactions with community partner agencies
- Effectively and safely express compassion and empathy while empowering clients to resolve needs.
- Build a knowledge bank of campus and community resources/services
Compensation:$15.00/hr
General Qualifications:
- Maintain Good Academic Standing.
- Possess a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater
- Use strong oral and communication skills
- Display a professional appearance and demeanor
- Must be reliable, punctual, and accountable
- Work as a team member
- Project a positive image for ĢƵios community
- Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- Ability to be discreet, confidential, and respectful with all patron information
- Maintain a flexible and creative approach to process improvement
- Create a culture of care while assisting people of diverse economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds
- Commit to following food safety guidelines
- Manage emotions in a professional manner while working with students/ clients in crisis
