The class is 16 weeks Aug - Dec 2026 and meets face to face, twice a week for 2 hours 50 minutes: Mondays and Wednesdays from 1-3:50pm.
The instructor will work with the Ceramics Tech and schedule firings to fit accommodate both credit and not credit courses. Ivy tech Fine Art students are receptive, responsive, and interested in learning.
Adjuncts faculty make $46.75 per contact hour (hours with students). Interviews will happen on a rolling basis until position is filled.
Adjunct Faculty are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:Ìý
- ÌýFacilitates student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.ÌýÌý
- Makes optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.Ìý
- Develops/maintains course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials.Ìý Maintains accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.Ìý
- Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and leads to a positive experience with Ä¢¹½ÊÓÆµios, shows evidence of developing and implementing active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).ÌýÌý
- Interacts with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complies with College policies, campus guidelines and expectations.ÌýÌý
- Ensures knowledge of and implements emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs and all learning environments.Ìý

Minimum Qualifications: A qualified faculty member in fine arts meets all three of the following criteria:Ìý
1. Possesses an earned bachelor or higher degree in fine arts, or related field, from a regionally accredited institution; andÌý
2. Completed academic preparation appropriate to the program and/or course being taught; andÌý
Two of the following:Ìý
1. A portfolio that demonstrates significant involvement as a practicing artist or designer; orÌý
2. Professional certification in the field; orÌý
3. Three years directly related work and exhibition experience.Ìý
Special consideration will be given to applicants with a masters (MFA) in the field of Ceramics with teaching experience. Teaching Assistantships are welcome.
