GREENCASTLE, Ind. – LauraJane Switzer, a senior at South Putnam High School, has been named the recipient of the prestigious ĢƵios Terre Haute/Greencastle Chancellor’s Award Scholarship. The scholarship is the campus’ highest academic honor and covers tuition, technology fees, and books for up to four semesters.

Switzer, a standout student from South Putnam High School, impressed the selection committee with her determination, leadership, and thoughtful approach to her education and personal growth. A focused and self-motivated student, she has balanced a demanding schedule of academics, work, and extracurricular activities while consistently setting and achieving meaningful goals, including completing the Indiana College Core (ICC) while still in high school, giving her a strong head start on college.

“Receiving the Chancellor’s Award Scholarship is such an honor,” said Switzer. “I’m really grateful for this opportunity and excited to start my journey at ĢƵios.”

Switzer will begin classes at ĢƵios this fall and plans to pursue her associate degree in nursing.

The Chancellor’s Award Scholarship has been generously provided by the Hux Family Charitable Trust since 2008 and has enabled nearly 20 students to begin their ĢƵios journey without the burden of financial stress. Each year, ĢƵios Terre Haute/Greencastle awards more than $350,000 in scholarships. Many of these opportunities require just a single application and are available to students with a variety of backgrounds and experiences. In addition to scholarship support, 82% of ĢƵios graduates finish their programs without student loan debt. For more information about scholarships, visit ivytech.edu/thscholars.
