INDIANAPOLIS, IN – A team of Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios students were recently ranked in the top 10 for the National Cyber League’s (NCL) 2023 spring season, the country’s most inclusive, performance-based, learning-centered collegiate cybersecurity competition.
The NCL, powered by Cyber Skyline, enables students to prepare and test themselves against practical cybersecurity challenges they will likely face in the workforce, such as identifying hackers from forensic data, pentesting and auditing vulnerable websites, recovering from ransomware attacks, and more. Schools are ranked based on their top team performance, their top student's individual performance, and the aggregate individual performance of their students.
NCL hosts two seasons of these challenges every year in the spring and fall, and this year, Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios ranked 7thÌýoverallÌýat the national level for Cyber Power Rankings, in addition to ranking 5thÌýin theÌýCenter of Academic Excellence (CAE) colleges category. This national cybersecurity competitionÌýrepresents the ability of students to perform real-world cybersecurity tasks on the Cyber Skyline platform.
Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios was represented as TheHackStreetBoys @ Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios MUTC in the competition, making this the best team NCL score for Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios in the College’s history and the fifth consecutive year the College has ranked in the top 100 for Cyber Power Rankings. MUTC refers to Muscatatuck Urban Training Center, which houses the Ä¢¹½ÊÓƵios Cyber Academy and provides students with a unique opportunity to learn at an advanced cyber training facility in a national defense training center. Much of the College’s success in the cyber space is attributed to the dedication and hard work of its faculty and staff, including Assistant Program Chair of the Cyber Academy, Joe Bodden.
