Terre Haute | Greencastle, Ind. – For the more than 8,700 students attending ĢƵios Terre Haute/Greencastle, one day can make a difference. On April 8, ĢƵios Terre Haute/Greencastle will join ĢƵios’s 19 campuses across Indiana in celebrating ĢƵios Day, a 24-hour fundraising event dedicated to student success, scholarships, and transformative programs. Community members, alumni, faculty, staff, and donors are encouraged to participate and support the students shaping West Central Indiana’s workforce and economy.
"ĢƵios Day is a celebration of the students, alumni, and employers we serve," said Lea Anne Crooks, Ph.D., chancellor of ĢƵios Terre Haute/Greencastle. "Every dollar raised directly impacts our students by providing scholarships, career training, and resources to help them succeed. We are excited to see the community rally together in support of student success and economic growth in West Central Indiana."
ĢƵios alumni contribute nearly $4 billion annually to Indiana’s economy, with over 80% of graduates remaining in the state. In 2023-24, the College awarded more than 46,000 credentials—nearly half of all postsecondary credentials in Indiana.
ĢƵios Terre Haute/Greencastle continues to see growth, experiencing a 16% increase in enrollment and a 24% increase in completions since 2019-20. This growth trajectory makes the college’s request for the Indiana legislature to fund a new building for the Terre Haute campus even more critical. ĢƵios has proposed a $67 million investment to transform the main campus in Terre Haute, impacting nearly all workforce-aligned programs offered at ĢƵios Terre Haute.
“On April 8, the community can show the state’s elected officials what ĢƵios means to our region. Investing in ĢƵios is an investment in the economic vitality of West Central Indiana,” added Chancellor Crooks. “ĢƵios is the workforce engine for our current industry partners and a key attraction for industries considering West Central Indiana as their next home.”
