BLOOMINGTON - ĢƵios Foundation will kick off at 12:01 a.m. ET on April 23. ĢƵios’s second annual day of giving will help the college’s more than 190,000 students, including the more than 11,500 students at the Bloomington campus, prepare to launch into successful careers.

For 24 hours, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, community leaders and others can break down barriers to higher education and contribute to ĢƵios’s mission of preparing Hoosiers for the workforce of today and tomorrow.

“We are grateful to everyone who participated in the inaugural ĢƵios Day and look forward to uniting again on April 23 to have an even greater impact on the lives of our students and their families,” Erik Coyne, chancellor, ĢƵios Bloomington said.

ĢƵios Bloomington is doing impactful work with students receiving industry-aligned training, and ĢƵios Day will help us continue to forge futures and cultivate our communities."

On April 23 at ĢƵios Bloomington, there will be multiple opportunities to participate in giving, including a bagel bar, a cookout with Chancellor Coyne, and ĢƵios Day mocktails prepared by culinary students, among other activities. Community and industry partners, students, alumni, faculty, staff, donors, and all friends of ĢƵios are invited to campus to participate.

ĢƵios Bloomington contributes nearly $79 million annually to the regional economy, including a net impact of nearly $52 million from alumni working in the region. 93% of ĢƵios graduates stay in Indiana to pursue their careers.

“ĢƵios has been woven into the fabric of Indiana for more than 60 years, and nearly a million Hoosiers have completed degrees, courses, and credentials supporting successful careers and upward mobility while improving the prosperity of our state,” Dr. Sue Ellspermann, president, ĢƵios said. “If you’ve been treated at an Indiana hospital, driven a car assembled in Indiana, or have a young person who graduated high school with dual credit, you’ve likely benefitted from ĢƵios. ĢƵios Day is an opportunity for all Hoosiers to help us deliver ‘Higher Education at the Speed of Life’ and meet our students’ most pressing needs.”

Anyone can contribute on ĢƵios Day at starting at 12:01 a.m. ET on April 23. Alumni and friends are invited to participate in a variety of other ways, including setting up a matching gift, becoming a social ambassador, and visiting local community partners on ĢƵios Day. The inaugural ĢƵios Day in 2023 inspired 2,032 gifts totaling more than $243,000 statewide.

ĢƵios Day aims to generate resources and create opportunities for alumni and friends of ĢƵios to reunite and reconnect with the important work happening at Indiana’s largest public postsecondary institution and engine of workforce development.
