Effective July, 1, the site became part of under a restructuring of the college’s Indianapolis campus service area. In an effort to better serve students and industry, ĢƵios Central Indiana (Indianapolis) moved from a nine-county service area to a three-county service area consisting of Marion, Hendricks, and Boone.
ĢƵios Central Indiana previously served 30% of Indiana’s population. With this restructuring project, the service area now covers 18% of Indiana’s population, distributing administrative and student services among surrounding ĢƵios campuses.
“Our immediate focus for Mooresville is on making connections in the community and bringing in industry partners to skill-up the local workforce and help businesses grow,” said ĢƵios Bloomington Chancellor Jennie Vaughan.
While ĢƵios’s Bloomington campus covers an eight-county service area, including Brown, Greene, Lawrence, Martin, Monroe, Morgan, Orange, and Owen counties, it serves students from nearly all Indiana counties. The Bloomington campus is the only college in the state to offer an accredited two-year associate degree in radiation therapy and only community college campus to offer optician and eye careٰԾԲ.
Restructuring of the ĢƵios Central Indiana campus also involves the following changes, which were complete as of July 1:
- ĢƵios Franklin and Shelbyville will be served by the Columbus campus.
- ĢƵios Greencastle will be served by the Terre Haute campus.
- ĢƵios Noblesville, now called ĢƵios Hamilton County, is the college’s 19th full-service campus providing all services to students.
- ĢƵios Indianapolis [downtown and Lawrence] will remain as ĢƵios Central Indiana.
- ĢƵios Avon will continue to be served in ĢƵios Central Indiana, but will be moving into the new MADE@Plainfield facility in the fall.
